Every currency,

Navy Fed posts in USD. Invoice a client in EUR or pay a vendor in GBP: each account, transaction and invoice keeps the currency it happened in, and your invoice totals convert to USD at the day's published rate.

Foreign-currency invoice and customer totals convert to USD at the day's published rate each time you open them — no manual lookups.

04 — Security

We can't move your money.
That's by design.

Plaid handles authentication. We hold a read-only OAuth token and nothing else — what you enter to connect goes to Plaid, never to our servers.

Full security disclosure
Read-only OAuth scope
We literally cannot move money out of your Navy Fed accounts — the token we hold doesn't have that permission.
Plaid handles auth
Your bank credentials never reach SuperBooks. Plaid is the authentication layer.
AES-256 at rest
Every transaction, every PDF, every receipt — encrypted at rest.
Revoke anytime
Delete the connection in Settings, then type DELETE to confirm. It is gone from SuperBooks at once, and Plaid is asked to revoke its access.
05 — QuestionsNavy Fed × FAQ

What people ask before
they connect Navy Fed.

Straight answers, each one true of SuperBooks as it ships today rather than as it is planned.

Does Navy Federal work with Plaid?

Yes. Plaid lists Navy Fed as "Navy Federal Credit Union", institution ID ins_15. In the snapshot of Plaid's institution list SuperBooks took on July 12, 2026, it is one of 9,761 active US institutions.

Can I connect Navy Federal to QuickBooks or other accounting software?

SuperBooks has no QuickBooks connection: it is bookkeeping software itself, and it connects to Navy Fed through Plaid. To take those transactions into another tool, export them as a CSV: one file of the transactions you select, with a column naming the bank account each one came from.

Do I need my own Navy Federal API access or developer key?

No. SuperBooks reaches Navy Fed through Plaid, read-only, and Plaid runs the connection, so there are no developer credentials to request from the bank. Your own data is then readable over the SuperBooks REST API, its TypeScript and Python SDKs, and its MCP server — on every plan. Navy Fed runs a developer portal of its own at developer.navyfederal.org (checked October 5, 2026); access to it is the bank's to grant, and SuperBooks does not use it.

How do I link my Navy Federal business and personal accounts?

Connect Navy Fed through Plaid, choosing the online-banking profile that holds those accounts; SuperBooks then lists every account Plaid returns for it, and you choose which ones sync. All of them count as one bank connection on your plan. SuperBooks keeps one connection per Plaid institution for each company — for Navy Fed, Plaid's "Navy Federal Credit Union" record — so connecting it again replaces that connection instead of adding a second one. If your personal and business accounts sit under two separate online-banking profiles there, only one of them can be connected at a time.

Who handles the connection when I link Navy Federal through Plaid?

Plaid does. You connect through Plaid — in Plaid's own window, or on Navy Fed's own site if Navy Fed uses OAuth — so what you enter goes to Plaid or Navy Fed, never to SuperBooks. All SuperBooks receives is a read-only token for transactions and balances — it can never move money — and disconnecting Navy Fed revokes it.

How much Navy Federal history comes across?

SuperBooks asks Plaid for up to 730 days — roughly two years — the first time you connect. How much of that actually arrives depends on what Navy Fed makes available through Plaid.

Does SuperBooks categorize Navy Federal transactions automatically?

Yes, when it is confident. SuperBooks applies a category above a 0.7 confidence score; below that it writes nothing rather than guessing, so the Navy Fed transaction stays uncategorized in your list until you set it.

Can I export my Navy Federal transactions?

Yes — your transactions export as a CSV on every plan and from every role, so you can hand Navy Fed activity to an accountant or load it into another tool whenever you want.

What does connecting Navy Federal cost?

Nothing to start: the free plan includes 1 bank connection and takes no credit card. Starter raises that to 3 connections and Pro to 10.
