Every surface, made boring on purpose.
Bookkeeping is a chore. SuperBooks is a tool. The product is small on purpose — five tabs, one box of paperwork, and zero "premium add-ons." Here's what each one does.
A single dashboard. Everything in one number.
Cash on hand, runway, revenue, burn — re-computed on every load, against every account. Open the laptop in the morning, know the state of the business in one glance.
- Cash across every connected account, with any account in another currency listed beside the total rather than converted at a guessed rate.
- Runway projection that accounts for confirmed pending invoices and known subscription costs.
- Your top five categories of spend, each with its share of what you spent.
Every transaction, categorized before you open the app.
An AI model reads each transaction's name, counterparty and amount as it syncs, and picks one of your categories for it. Anything it isn't confident about is left uncategorized in your list rather than guessed at.
- Confidence-gated — below 0.7 confidence the row is written back with no category at all.
- Re-categorize a whole selection at once.
- Filter by account, category, tag, amount, recurrence or a missing receipt.
Drop receipts in. Stop filing them.
Drop a PDF or snap a photo of a paper receipt — it waits in your inbox, ready to attach to its transaction, and stays linked to it from then on.
- Takes PDFs, photos (HEIC included) and screenshots, up to 25 files at a time.
- Gmail import is on the way; until then, every receipt comes in as an upload.
- Two-way attachment — every transaction links back to the original PDF, forever.
Invoices that mark themselves paid.
Branded and templated, with a hosted copy your client can open. Once a day SuperBooks looks in your bank for a deposit of the same amount and currency, and marks the invoice paid — if two could fit, it leaves the call to you. No copy-paste, no "was that Acme or Acme Studios?"
- Open-tracking, so you know if a client has actually seen the bill.
- Send a reminder the moment an invoice goes past due, with a confirm step so none goes out by accident.
- Your bank details on every invoice. Card and ACH payment-on-invoice is in progress.
A safe place for every piece of paper.
Contracts, NDAs, tax filings, government correspondence. Encrypted at rest, searchable by name and tag, and shareable with your accountant through a link that expires on its own after seven days.
- Search every file by name or tag — find the contract in seconds.
- Per-document share links with expiry (Pro). Your accountant gets the right view, nothing more.
Who's paying, who owes you, who's worth the most.
A customer-eye view of the ledger. Total revenue, what's still owed and the last invoice date, rolled up per customer and sortable by whichever you care about most this morning.
- One record per customer, with their invoices and tracked projects attached.
- Tag customers your way, then sort the list by tag, industry, country or revenue.
Ask your books anything, from anywhere.
SuperBooks ships a Model Context Protocol endpoint, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Raycast, and Perplexity can read your ledger directly. “What did we spend on AWS in Q1?” — your AI of choice knows.
- Scoped access tokens — grant read-only, or read-write, per agent.
- A separate key per agent, revocable on its own.
Track billable hours where the money lives.
Each project carries its client, its rate and its currency. When you're ready to bill, pick a date range and its hours become a draft invoice — to the right client, at the right rate, in the right currency.
- Live timer or after-the-fact, your call.
- Project-level summaries of hours and value.
- The invoice line names the project, the dates and the hours — your client sees what they're paying for.
The numbers you and your accountant check first.
P&L, burn rate, runway — computed from your transactions every time you open them, with the transactions behind them a CSV away.
- Profit & loss, revenue, expenses by category, burn rate, runway and cash balance.
- Transactions export as CSV on every plan, so your accountant files in their own tool.
